Horace Turnbull has conceived, produced, wrote an original
story and stage adaptation for Carnegie Hall’s presentation
of An Afternoon with Alvin Ailey to a sold-out performance.
He has also choreographed for the Radio City Christmas
Spectacular and the world famous Radio City Rockettes.
He was dance consultant on the film Tap Heat choreographed
by Danny Daniels, and
produced by Hargrove Productions.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Musical Theatre
from New York University.
Theatrically he's assisted Tony Award Nominee Chris Chadman
from the Broadway revival of Guys and Dolls serving
as dance supervisor for the Broadway show Face Value,
directed by Tony award winner Jerry Zaks. He also had the
pleasure of teaching the young boys in the Broadway show The
Tap Dance Kid, and was also pre-production assistant
to Tony award winner Danny Daniels on the National Tour of
The Tap Dance Kid.
Other choreographic credits include the National Tour of
Funny Girl, choreographer for Cork at the
Actor's Collective, and choreographer for Manhattan Serenade
at the AMAS Rep. Theatre.
Some of his performance credits include: Face Value,
Ain't Broadway Grand, Oh Kay, Sophisticated Ladies, and
The Tap Dance Kid.
He is on the teaching staff at The Alvin Ailey American Dance
Center, and teaches extensively throughout Europe.
He can also be seen in Academy award winner Jacques D' Ambois'
documentary entitled And Dance Makes Worlds Move.
