Class Description

Int/Adv JAZZ and Adv Beg LYRICAL JAZZ : A jazz class with an emphasis on technique and expression. The warm-up is designed to strengthen and increase flexibility, working across the floor helps to connect the movement and the combination challenges the dancer to dance from the inside out. Combinations range from lyrical to contemporary, fast paced jazz.

Adv Beg TAP: Building a solid vocabulary and exploring more intricate rhythms, students will increase confidence and articulation in their tap skills.

Adv Beg JUMPS & TURNS: This class will increase a student's vocabulary by introducing a variety of turns and leaps and the methods and mechanics to stronger dancing. This class will work on correct alignment and strength needed to improve turning technique and to jump more efficiently. Students should have a foundation in ballet or jazz (2 years experience)

A short warm up is followed by exercises for balance and placement. Progressions are given to strengthen vocabulary and technique of jumps and turns. Understanding of jazz/ballet terminology is required.
