Andrey Silantyev was born
in Moscow, Russia. He attended the Moscow Ballet Academy and
upon graduation joined the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre
as a soloist for 20 years and toured extensively throughout
Europe, Asia, South America, Australia, Japan and the United
States. His diverse repertoire included major roles in ballets:
Don Quixote, Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet and
Spartacus.
He has been teaching classical ballet for 25 years. He holds
two diplomas: a Master of Arts degree in Dance and a Master
of Performing Arts degree in Education. He has taught at the
Moscow Ballet Academy and numerous ballet companies and schools
in Russia and the USA.
Andrey's classes are taught in the best tradition of classical
training and reflect the excellence of his ballet education
and vast experience as a dancer, choreographer, and repertory
coach. Andrey's teaching method emphasizes correct placement,
develops strength and pays particular attention to épaulement
and port de bras. Instruction and corrections are given clearly
which helps students to rapidly improve their dance skills.
Class Description
Beginner BALLET This class is suited for students with varied dance backgrounds who have the basic knowledge of ballet and ability to do full barre and center. All exercises are aimed at improving balance, control and coordination and advanced overall technique. Every class includes a comprehensive barre and ample center practice in adagio, turns, jumps and diagonals. |
