Open BREAKDOWN: Da Breakdown originated
by world renowned dancers/ choroeographers Kwikstep and Rokafella, occasionally
substituted by members of the Full Circle Souljahs dance theater company.
Technical elements of poppin lockin uprockin and breakin are the foundation
of all Hip-Hop dance moves seen in today's videos and concert choroeography.
The basics are taught at an open level so that along with terminlogy, the feel
and history of the urban culture becomes tangible at a time when Hip-Hop has
been embraced in every corner of the planet. Kwik and Rok began teaching Hip-Hop
dance fundamentals at BDC in 1997 and have successfully maintained their careers
and a theater dance company based around these styles. They believe Hip-Hop
is an urban culture whose artistic elements
help to build character and instill pride.
Before you can create your own interpretation of this dance, you need to
train and master at least one of the original dance styles..then you get
props.
