Liane Plane is a former soloist with
American Ballet Theatre and Latin America's Ballet Alicia Alonso. She
was a cast member of the original Broadway production of West Side Story
and Bob Fosse's "Redhead." Her teaching method emphasizes a
supportive and non-competitive atmosphere. If you've danced before and
would like to move again, you'll be surprised how good it feels to get
back into class again.
Class Description
Slow Beg BALLET: Starts with
a barre that places emphasis on how to use the feet, how to
shift weight from both legs to one leg, the movement of the
head and arms. Following the barre, the center focuses on
basic turns, balance without stress and breathing; basic movement
elements are developed into combinations and dance phrases.
Beg BALLET: Has a slightly
larger vocabulary, more challenging jumps and turns. However the basic
ideas remain the same. Understand the logic of the vocabulary and how
it progresses and the joy of movement will follow.
