acclaimed modern dance company, NOTARIO. Currently, he is teaching at
PERIDANCE and BROADWAY DANCE CENTER in New York City and at various private
schools in the metropolitan area. Most recently he choreographed the well

The Canadian Dance Magazine, VANDANCE, said of his classes: “…the
term Modern Dance does not begin to do justice to the scope and depth
of this area of dancing nor the span of it’s technique…you
name it, BILL HASTINGS has it all.”
Class Description
Adv Beg THEATER DANCE:
This class offers a fun and eye-opening challenge to the person who wants
to explore the vast realm of dance for the theatre. Working through the
techniques of jazz, ballet, modern, tap and swing that are used on the
stage today and honoring the choreographers who have changed our theatrical
history with their greatness. We explore the unique and rich styles of
theatre dance and the secrets to honest and confident performance. All
you have to do is be present and have the desire to learn. This class
is geared to the performer in all of us, but it does require that you
have a solid understanding of beginner to intermediate dance skills.
Warning: This class is not for basic dance skills instruction. It leads
you on various journeys to becoming a better performer. It's a great class
for actors, singers and dancers who want to discover the wealth of joy
in the whole mind/body experience. A class which will help you to feel
and be more confident and assured in auditions as well as performance
situations.
Of course, the class is great for anyone wanting to have a great time
or just looking for a great workout dancing to great music. The warm-up portion
of the class is often with the exciting live accompaniment of the brilliant
percussionists, Rod Jackson and Marty Beller. Please, no baggy clothes
or street shoes/tennis shoes. Appropriate dance attire and jazz shoes
are appreciated; character shoes for the ladies when they like, and bare
feet or socks for the warm-up for all. See You There!
