Barbara Duffy is "One of the most inventive tappers around today,"
said
Gregory Hines. Barbara's performance highlights include, "The
Gregory Hines
Show," featured dancer, actor and choreographer, "Gala
For The President,"
performing with Gregory Hines before President and Mrs. Bill
Clinton, and dance captain of Brenda Bufalino's American
Tap Dance Orchestra. Barbara performs
regularly as a featured soloist across the United States and
overseas, including
London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, where she was hailed as a "riveting
performer" by the Independent. Barbara Duffy & Company,
her own company of all women tappers, is currently touring
their concert, Stages, which is being developed into
a full-length theatrical production. A highly sought after
teacher, Barbara
has taught at workshops and festivals in 15 countries. Barbara
is based in New
York City, where she teaches regularly at Broadway Dance Center.
Her greatest
inspirations are Leon Collins and Brenda Bufalino.
Class Description
Int Adv TAP: Rhythm tap style
to jazz music. Students must have a minimum of 4 years tap training.
Focus is on musicality, relaxation and listening. Fast paced!
Adv Beg TAP: Rhythm tap style
to jazz music. Students must have a minimum of 2 years training.
Focus is on technique, musicality and relaxation. Medium paced.
